Algeria has submitted a bid to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, after Guinea was stripped of the tournament due to its infrastructure not being ready. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has also received bids from Morocco, Nigeria and Benin.
Algeria’s sports and youth minister said the country’s application was “solid and consistent” and that it had facilities that were already operational. CAF will inspect facilities in January before announcing a final decision the following month.
